Welsh: We are embarrassed

Intervista nel dopo partita a John Welsh che ha parlato per la squadra dicendo di sentirsi imbarazzati per la sconfitta odierna.

Welsh ha però anche detto che negli spogliatoi la squadra si è unita e che sta già pensando alla prossima partita contro l'Hartlepool, c'è voglia di reagire e di vincere.

Queste le sue parole tratte dal sito del PNE:

“We are embarrassed; it is not a performance any team would want to give, the fans deserved more today.  

“It was summed up in the first 30 seconds with the first goal and it got worse from there. We all showed a lack of desire to win the game and each man in the dressing room after the game was embarrassed. 

“The last message to come out of the dressing room was to respond at Hartlepool on Tuesday afternoon. It is a massive game, we have put pressure on ourselves to go there and get a win. 

“We really need to win, we need to take a look at ourselves, evaluate things and get our heads right for what is a massive game on Tuesday.  

“We need to win; a draw isn’t good enough we need to start winning football matches. We will go through everything on Monday and see where we went wrong which will take a lot to evaluate.  

“If you approach games like we did today you are not going to win much. We will put things right for Tuesday and look to win the game. 

“The fans will always get behind the team, we have a great set of supporters and they always get behind the lads no matter what score it is or how we are playing.  

“The players today let not only the fans but themselves down. We let everybody down today and all I can do on behalf of everybody is apologise for the performance and hopefully we will put things right on Tuesday night.”
