UFFICIALE: GRAHAM WESTLEY E' IL NUOVO MANAGER DEL PNE!

E' finalmente arrivato l'annuncio ufficiale dell'ingaggio da parte del Preston North End di Graham Westley come nuovo manager del Club.

Insieme a Westley è stato ingaggiato anche il suo staff, lo stesso che aveva nello Stevenage, sua ex squadra, composto dall' "assistant manager" John Dreyer e dal "coach" Dino Maamria.

Westley, 43 anni, ha guidato nelle ultime stagioni (dal 2003 al 2006 e dal 2008 sino ad oggi) lo Stevenage con grande successo portandolo dal campionato di Conference alla League Two nella stagione 2009-2010 (prima volta nella storia del Club) e portandolo nella stagione successiva addirittura in League One nella quale, nella stagione in corso, stava facendo benissimo essendo al settimo posto a soli 3 punti dalla zona play off.

Anche in FA CUP nella stagione 2010-11 sorprese tutti eliminando il Newcastle al Terzo Turno per poi essere eliminato dal Reading nel turno successivo.

Westley è un manager molto preparato e giovane, potrà sicuramente fare grandi cose a Deepdale!

Le sue prime dichiarazioni sono state per dire di essere orgoglioso di poter far parte di un Club così storico che ha avuto tra le proprie file calciatori leggendari come Sir Tom Finney, Alan Kelly e Bill Shankly.

"My job is to do my very best to re-ignite the Club's on field performance and in the first instance help the Club to punch at its weight. We will take things on from there.

"The one thing that I will promise the fans is that I will sweat blood to build a team that lives up to the Club's traditions and which strongly reflects the ethics of hard work, discipline and organisation that I hold dear.

"I am here to create a team that wins football matches and honours. That isn't easy, but I don't look for easy options.

"It is my job to build a ferocious spirit of passion and unity amongst our team and in support of our team.

"There is a superb platform here at Preston North End and it is up to me to capitalise on that.

Nella partita di oggi contro il Wycombe ci saranno ancora Alexander ed Unsworth a guidare la squadra dalla panchina, ma Westley ed il suo staff saranno presenti a Deepdale per dare un primo sguardo alla loro nuova squadra.

Un grande benvenuto a Graham con la speranza che possa fare davvero grandi cose alla guida del Preston North End!!!!!
