Preston Supporters Group Statement
Thursday 24th November 2011

The Preston Supporters Group Committee would like to join many other supporters in showing our concern with recent developments at our football club.
PNE currently find themselves in the middle of an horrendous run of league results and out of the F.A. Cup in the first round after losing to a team in the bottom division of league football. Should there not be a dramatic upturn in results we will soon find ourselves dragged into a relegation battle.
Whilst we understand the financial difficulties at the football club, we feel that with the apparent lack of investment and the reduction in quality of the playing staff the club is now staring down the barrel of a gun with little or no hope for the future.
There are many questions which we would like to put to Mr Hemmings, sadly though he is unwilling to communicate with fans and will not do so in the future. We have been offered the opportunity to meet the Chairman, however this has yet to come to fruition. Following a fans forum with Mr Lindsay in November last year many promises were made to supporters. Sadly it would seem that most of, if not all these, have been broken.
We are deeply concerned that in January our few remaining quality players will be sold, and then PNE will be destined to the lower reaches of league football for years to come.
We therefore call on the Owner to issue a statement to the supporters giving us some hope for the future.
We would like to know what plans Mr Hemmings has for the club now and in the future. Will it be sold? Will the debt still be owed? Are we actively looking for investment? Just how many more poor results will be tolerated before action is taken.
We are led to believe that Mr Hemmings stopped the club from going into liquidation. However with him at the helm we seem to be on a downward spiral that shows no sign of ending.
Everyone at PSG hopes that things will turn around for the club and that we can all move on together. We are not a pressure group and we would not like to become one. We will of course continue to support the players on the pitch and back the club anyway we can.
However at the moment the silence from Deepdale is deafening and we will not stand back whilst our football club is in such freefall.
