UFFICIALE: PHIL BROWN NUOVO MANAGER

Preston North End are pleased to be able to confirm the appointment of Phil Brown as first team manager at Deepdale with immediate effect.

Phil, 51, who was the first manager to take Hull City into the top flight in their history, has agreed an 18 month contract with the Club and will meet the players for the first time and take training on Thursday 6th January.

The former Bolton Wanderers defender brings a wealth of Championship and Premier League experience to Preston North End and was delighted to have the opportunity to improve the Club's fortunes.

"Preston North End are a big club with great history and tradition and I am really looking forward to the challenge and opportunity.

"I would like to thank the chairman, owner and board of directors for putting their faith in me and whilst I know the current position is one we do not want to be in, I have every belief in the players' and my own ability to get us out of the situation we are in.

"The supporters of this football club are some of the most knowledgeable in the country and like them I want to see the club progress and I hope to be a part of a successful Preston North End."

The new manager will be officially unveiled to the media at a press conference to be held at Deepdale on Thursday afternoon at 4pm.
