Comunicato di Peter Ridsdale

Questo è il comunicato ufficiale redatto dal Chairman Peter Ridsdale e comparso sul sito ufficiale del Preston North End con il quale si spiegano le mosse che il Club sta adottando per cercare di riportare la squadra a livelli migliori, ma sempre mantenendo alta l'attenzione verso la parte finanziaria, fondamentale per poter perseguire gli obiettivi prefissati (purtroppo si parla anche di posto di lavoro persi per alcuni membri dello staff):

"Just over a year ago Preston North End Football Club were relegated from the Championship division of the Football League. At that time we clearly had aspirations of bouncing back to the Championship at the first attempt. Sadly this did not happen. The reality is that all football clubs, whatever their aspiration and ambitions, need to be seen to manage and control their cost base.Since the end of season 2011/12 we have taken radical steps to overhaul our playing squad both in terms of quality, but also in keeping with having a payroll consistent with our turnover. These changes have reinforced our desire to get back to the Championship whilst at the same time ensuring that this is a business that is being run properly.The next stage of this process has been a fundamental review of our off field organisation structure. This has been done to ensure that the money that we spend is focused on maximising our revenues and giving the right level of service to all of supporters (customers) whilst at the same time matching income and expenditure of a League One football club.

It is with regret that these changes will result in a small number of job losses which have been communicated to our staff today (Wednesday 20^th June 2012).We hope that all those who are involved with Preston North End Football Club, sponsors, supporters, suppliers etc will recognise that these changes are necessary and right and proper in the circumstances in which we are operating.We look forward to the new season with confidence and believe that we will nowbe positioned to move this club forward once again."

Credo che il Pne stia cercando di pianificare i propri obiettivi nel modo corretto, cercando di migliorare la squadra, ma senza compiere spese esagerate e tenendo in considerazione innanzitutto le risorse disponibili senza eccedere.

Penso che il progetto meriti fiducia e spero che possa portare benefici al Club e che ovviamente che questo si ripercuota anche attraverso successi sul campo!


Purtroppo, come detto all'inizio, alcuni membri dello staff perderanno il loro posto di lavoro probabilmente.... questo è un fatto davvero triste e che non vorremmo mai che succeda... auguriamo di cuore a queste persone di non perdere il loro posto di lavoro e, nel triste caso in cui dovesse succedere, auguriamo loro di cuore buona fortuna e la possibilità di riuscire a trovare il prima possibile un nuovo impiego.


E' sempre brutto e triste pensare alla perdita del lavoro per qualsiasi persona...  auguri di cuore da parte dei GBS.
